IFM Efector 3D camera is a special vision sensor that can make a smart analysis of distance, level and volume.
Such devices have a built-in infrared light source that sends a beam of light to the measured object. This light pulse reflects from the object’s surface and returns to the device’s receiver. Later, the transmitter analyzes the received data. Thus, we have a lighting, analysis and evaluation in the one housing! Such products are quite popular to use in robotics, mobile machine, industrial automation, conveyors and many other applications.
IFM Electronic gmbh produces two categories of 3D cameras:
- Standard 3D cameras
- 3D cameras for mobile applications
Standard cameras are belonged to O3D series and can detect both scenes and objects. Such devices easy detect spatial dimensions at a glance. They have no moving parts and due to this have a long service lifetime.
Cameras for mobile applications are special sensors suited for use with mobile machines. All devices of presented type belong to O3M series. The main features of such equipment are its robust structure, reliable data transmission and long sensing range (35 m).
