Sick Safety Sensors

Sick Stegmann is one of the World's leading manufacturers of safety sensors.  The company is among the best in the field of industrial technologies. Since its foundation, Sick invested a lot of time and expertise to become a number one company in optoelectronic safety solutions for hazardous machines and work areas.

Today Sick continues to keep high standards for innovation developing advanced point-of-operation devices, optical perimeters, and area guards. The company features a broad range of products from small regular duty and compact models to heavy-duty robust and sturdy design sets that withstand harsh operating conditions and aggressive industrial environments. Advanced features of Sick safety control devices include fixed, floating, and multiple floating blanking, Presence Sensing Device Initiation (PSDI), and multiple configurable muting controls. We are glad to present high-quality technologically advanced Sick safety sensor equipment in our catalog.

How does a Sick sensor work?

One of the most common Sick design solutions is the usage of photoelectric proximity sensors, such as MultiPulse, together with safety controllers (for example FlexiSoft) or special safety evaluation modules. The photoelectric sensor detects movements by changing the electrical potentials as the amount of light incoming to the sensor surface is changing. The controller element translates electric signals received from a photoelectric element into digital electronic code to operate the safety system standard modes.
