Today, the automation of many technological processes requires numerous measurements of various physical parameters. To effectively control modern mechanisms, machines, and units, a variety of sensors are used, classified according to various criteria. Today we will discuss with you what industrial sensors are and what types of such sensors are in the Pepperl + Fuchs line.

What are Pepperl+Fuchs Industrial Sensors?

Pepperl+Fuchs industrial sensors are the measuring devices needed to convert physical quantities: temperature, light intensity, electrical voltage, and liquid or gas pressure into a favorable signal for further use. In the industry, they are often referred to as measuring transducers. They are widely used in the design and formation of electronic devices with varying degrees of complexity. Without them, competent functioning and stable operation of various technological schemes are impossible.

Pepperl+Fuchs industrial sensors types

Sensors give machines the ability to intelligently see, detect and share data by classifying and interpreting all that information. In addition to controlling machines and processes, the information provided by sensors makes it possible to monitor industrial systems and detect or prevent possible failures. They provide transparency and optimize material and process flows. With the use of sensors, efficiency is increased.

Let's find out which industrial sensors are present in the Pepperl+Fuchs range.

Proximity capacitive sensors

A capacitive proximity sensor is a sensor that can detect an object using electrical properties and capacitance. They are widely used to detect and measure objects/liquids with a higher dielectric constant than air. This includes anything that is conductive or non-conductive.

Capacitive proximity sensors find many applications in industrial automation systems, from location determination to non-invasive analysis of the composition of objects.

Proximity magnetic field sensors

A magnetic proximity switch is a line-switching device that uses magnetic field signals for control, also known as a magnetron switch. Commonly used magnetic switches are available in single and double-contact versions. It can convert an electromagnetic quantity into an electrical signal by changing the positional relationship between the sensor and the object, so as to achieve the purpose of control or measurement.

It can detect magnetic objects to generate signals. Since the magnetic field also passes through many non-magnetic materials, it is not necessary to bring the target directly to the magnetic proximity sensors, but it is necessary to transmit the magnetic field over a long distance through a magnetic conductor (eg, iron). For example, a signal can be transmitted to magnetic proximity sensors through a high-temperature location to generate a trigger signal.

Inclination and acceleration sensors

Tilting and acceleration sensors industrial allow you to fix angular deviations in positioning, as well as excess acceleration in the operation of mechanisms that can lead to malfunctions.

In special vehicles such as trucks, trailers, forklifts, and port cranes, the weight is often calculated directly on the vehicle's onboard scales. In such systems, external acceleration can lead to measurement inaccuracies that can only be corrected after the operation is completed. F99 compensates for external acceleration so that the weight of the load can be calculated during loading, unloading, and driving.

You can also control the maximum steering angle on slopes (asphalt paver, forklift, dump truck, etc.). Based on the data received from the sensor, the steering wheel angle can be limited to eliminate the risk of rollover. If you want to understand whether our inclinometers and accelerometers are suitable for your equipment, then contact a manager who will help you choose a sensor.

Crane leveling, front loader tilt monitoring, elevator monitoring - the F99 series sensors guarantee measurement accuracy in all and even difficult operating conditions.
