Connection technology must supply power to devices, transmit the signal reliably and withstand the rigors of different environments. IFM's ecolink product line is designed with this in mind. Let's take a closer look at IFM connection technology.

Connection technology overview

The ecolink series includes connectors, plugs, connecting cables, and junction boxes in M8 and M12 versions. The assortment is complemented by female plug-in connectors, male plug-in connectors, valve connectors, terminal connectors, and plug-in connectors.

Even when installed without tools, a tight seal between the sensor, actuator, and splitter is guaranteed. A specially designed sleeve protects the O-ring from breakage caused by overtightening of the nut. Even in heavy-duty applications, cable connectors are protected against unintended loosening by special protection. Some types are equipped with highly visible LEDs to indicate operation and switching status.

The IFM electronic product range is divided by application. Connection technology is available for general industrial applications, hygienic and wet applications in the food and drink industry, machine tool and metalworking applications, and for applications in welding systems, mobile machinery or explosive atmospheres.

Types of Cables

IFM cables and connectors - products offered in versions M12 and M8. There are many variations of cable connectors. The connector nut and insert are usually common, but the keys and keyways in the inserts vary depending on the cord usage. IFM offers solutions for cables coded A, C, D, and T.
