Incremental encoders serve to define the shaft position, speed and angular velocity. Measuring of resolution is done by the number of strokes or pulses per turn, which the encoder transmits to the control system for each turn. The current position can be determined by the control system by counting these impulses. When turning on the machine may need to adjust according to the base coordinates.
SICK offer different types of incremental encoders:
DBS50 Core. Incremental encoders with universal mechanical of connection. Allows to carry out connecting to the network by an universal cable, performance with blind hollow shaft or end flange (with solid shaft), end flange with 6 mounting hole templates and servomotor, hollow shaft with universal mounting plate, compact housing diameter of 37 mm with a compact depth, resolution from 10 ...2 500 ppr and temperatures –20 ... +85 °C.
DKS40. High-performance incremental encoders. They have compact body, end flange with solid shaft and resolution from 1 to 2048 ppr.
DBS60 Core. Universal incremental encoders for industrial applications. They have end or servoflame, hollow or through hollow shaft, the housing 58 mm, small mounting depth, large distance between the bearings, flanges and stator plates for different installation conditions and resolution up to 2048 ppr.
DFS60. Reliable programmable encoders with high resolution for tasks with high requirements. They have high resolution up to 16 bits, small structural depth, can be programmed output voltage, the zero pulse width, zero pulse position and number of pulses.
DGS35 and DGS34. Encoders with large hollow shaft for tough conditions. They have diameter 3,5, electrical interface and other features.
