Baumer capacitive sensor photoBaumer capacitive sensors are transducers that convert non-electrical quantities to electrical capacitance values.

They are used to measure fluid, pressure, humidity, mechanical stress, etc. Their operation principle is similar to open electric capacitor.

The main advantages of capacitive sensors:

  • Contactless
  • They are available to work with any materials
  • High durability level

The sensors work at distance up to 30 mm. Its operating range is determined by EN 60947-5-2. Such equipment works optimally with aggressive environments due to non-contact technology. The quality of work does not depend on the color, material and other physical characteristics of an object.

Devices work with both conductive (electrical conductivity> 20 μS / cm.) and non-conductive (<20 μS / cm) medias. They also normally operate with optically reflecting surfaces.
