Baumer tachogenerators and resolvers imageTachogenerators Baumer are an electric devices that measure the shaft rotation frequency and convert it into an electrical signal.

The German company produces several categories of such equipment. All series are products that can operate in heavy duty conditions.

The devices use Longlife technology, which consists of a silver track integrated in the commutator. This feature allows equipment almost completely to avoid wear. The technology significantly increases the life of the device and its reliability in harsh environments. Special seals are located in both sides of sensor`s body.

The company Baumer hubner produces the following types of tachogenerators:

  • Solid shaft
  • Bearingless
  • Hollow shaft

Solid shaft devices are connected to measuring objects using a shaft of diameters from 11 to 18 mm (depending on model) and EURO flange B10. Such equipment work with temperatures up to 130 °C (266 °F) and with idle voltage up to 200mV / rpm.

Bearingless tachogenerators have a blind hollow or conical shaft with dimensions from 7 to 17 mm. They are able to operate with idle voltage up to 60mV / rpm (depending on model). Sensors can work with speeds up to 10000 rpm without losing high level of accuracy.

Models with a blind hollow shaft ø14 -16 mm are also available. They work with idle voltage up to 60mV / rpm. This type includes the KTD 3 and KTD 4 series.

Baumer hubner also produces 3 main series of resolvers: RTD 1 B14 Y 1, RTD 1 B14 Y 3 and RTD 4 A 4 Y 2. They available with both solid and hollow shaft.
