Altivar 12

Replacement of ATV 11 with ATV 12

The ATV12 frequency converter is compatible with the latest version of ATV11, however, there are a few differences between them.

Both of these series of converters (ATV11 and ATV12) are available in two design modifications: with a cooling radiator or on a platform.

The auxiliary voltage supplied by the ATV12 for the control circuits is 24 V instead of 15 V for the ATV11. When replacing an ATV11 converter with an ATV12, it is necessary to connect the voltage converter VW3A9317 to 24 V in case an external automation system needs to be powered.

For digital inputs LI it is not necessary to use a voltage converter. The ground terminal is on the right side of the terminal block (it was on the left side of the ATV11 drive) and the screw is colored green. The control terminals are located and marked differently, there are differences in the configuration, see the Schneider Altivar 12 manual for more details.

When replacing an ATV11 with an ATV12 drive, ensure that all electrical connections of the ATV12 fully comply with the installation instructions, refer to the Operation Manual for more information on mounting holes and dimensions.
