What is Altivar 61?
Altivar 61 (ATV 61) - This is a variable speed drive for 3-phase asynchronous electric motors from 0.75 to 800 kW. The Altivar 61 drive can reduce operating costs by optimizing energy consumption, greatly improving comfort, and also providing Schneider altivar 61 motor overload protection.

- The function complies with standards for machines EN 954-1 category 3, electrical installations IEC/EN 61508 SIL2 and power drives IEC/EN 61800-5-2.
- Using the Power Removal safety feature also allows the Altivar 61 to protect motors installed in explosive atmospheres (ATEX).

- Adaptation of the current limit depending on the speed.
- Noise and resonance suppression by means of a switching frequency which, depending on the rated load, can be set up to 16 kHz during operation, and random modulation.
- preset speeds.
- Built-in PID controller, with preset PID values and automatic/manual (“Auto/Man”) modes.
- Operating hours and energy consumption counter.
- No liquid detection, zero flow detection, flow limitation.
- "Sleep" function, "wake up" function.
- Customer settings with a display of physical values: bar, l/s, °C.
Protection functions:
- Thermal converter and motor protection, PTC thermistors.
- Protection against overloads and overcurrent during continuous operation.
- Mechanical protection of the mechanism using the function of skipping frequencies, and phase sequence.
- Plant protection by detecting underload, overload, and no flow.
- Protection through fault management and customizable alert groups.
Security features:
- Machine safety with built-in frequency converter lockout safety feature. This feature prevents accidental starting of the engine; it meets the requirements of EN 95481 Category 3 and EN 61508 SIL2 (Safety Monitoring/Alarming for Processes and Systems).
- Plant safety with forced operation function with fault inhibition, operation direction commands, and job configurations.
