Altivar Process ATV630 (Altivar 630) is s a frequency converter from 0.75 kW to 800 kW with built-in intelligent services that make it unique and provide overhead savings for industries and infrastructure. Schneider Altivar ATV630 Setting
Let's look at an example of setting up an ATV630 frequency converter for cascade control in multi-master mode. All inverters are equipped with the VW3A3721 option card.
The following parameters must be changed on each drive first:
- engine data + auto-tuning.
- basic settings (ACC, DEC, LSP, HSP).
- Macro configuration = booster control.
Next, you need to configure the PID controller:
- pressure control, feedback on AI2.
- pressure sensor measuring range (0-10 bar).
- internal pressure setpoint 3.5 bar (for example), scaling parameters PIF1, PIF2, PAL, PAH, PIP1, PIP2.
After that setup cascade mode:
- [M/P Speed Mode] MPSt = distributed mode - additional pumps are connected one at a time and operate at a fixed speed.
- connection / disconnection conditions.
- the first drive is master (MPDT=master). Second and third IF - MPDT="master or slave".
The settings for the second and third IF are the same as for the first, except:
second IF MGID=2, third IF MGID=3.
The inverters must have different IP addresses (VW3A3721)
Comments on the connection diagram:
- All drives must receive a pressure feedback signal at input AI2 (for example). You can use three pressure sensors (each connected to its own drive) or distribute the feedback signal from one pressure sensor to three drives using a splitter.
- The Ethernet cable must be connected to the VW3A3721 port (not the built-in embedded eth port). Daisy chain connection is possible - (Drive1.VW3A3721 - Drive2.VW3A3721.LeftRJ45, Drive2.VW3A3721.rightRJ45 - Drive3.VW3A3721). Please note that in this case, when power supply 2 of the FC is removed, communication between FC 1 and FC 3 is not possible. It is better to use a switch and connect the inverter in a star topology through a switch.
- All drives must receive a START command. Activation sequence START on the FC: first on the FC-slave, then on the master.
ATV 630 Types

- Drives for a wall mounting with protection class IP 21, range of power from 0.75 kW to 110 kW (200/240 V), with the possibility of installation without shell, or with installation in the Cabinet.
