Sensors are elements that perceive an input signal (an input value that is controlled, for example, pressure, temperature, current, voltage, etc.) and convert it into a value convenient for transmission, storage, and use in a control system.
The sensor necessarily contains in its design a sensitive element and often a conversion part. The main characteristics of electronic sensors are their sensitivity and measurement error. Today we are going to take a look at the Schneider Electric products line called OsiSense.
Types of OsiSense Sensors
Let's look at what types of sensors are available in the Schneider Electric OsiSense line.
OsiSense XC
Limit switches OsiSense series XC Osiswitch for contact detection of objects. They have more than 5,000 interchangeable configurations and are equipped with positive opening electrical contacts.
This range includes miniature (metal) XCMD, compact (plastic) XCKT, and manual reset XCPR/XCDR circuit breakers. Head types - metal or thermoplastic, push-button or roller plunger or lever, 2-pole NO+NC contact, 1 or 2 cable entries.
Applied in industrial machine tools: packaging machinery, material handling machinery, conveyors, machine tools, food and beverage machinery, service industry, etc.
OsiSense XT
Capacitive sensors OsiSense Osiprox XT with automatic configuration for operation in any installation and non-contact detection of objects from dielectric and conductive materials. The line includes XT1/XT2 sensors. Their sensing distance is from 2 to 15 mm. The sensors are equipped with plastic or metal cases in a cylindrical (M12/M18/M30) or rectangular (40x40 mm) design.
Application:
Assembly equipment, robotics, machine tools, packaging equipment, material handling equipment, conveyors, etc.
Production of food and beverages, etc.
OsiSense XM
OsiSense XM electromechanical pressure and vacuum switches with fluid contact detection. They have the function of presetting parameters and the possibility of modifying them during operation. Setting range from 1 to 500 bar. Measuring liquids: lubricating oils, air, fresh and seawater, and caustic liquids in the temperature range up to 160°C. A handy pressure control sensor that can be configured absolutely easily with unsurpassed modification flexibility during operation.
Applicable to pressure control or monitoring of forming presses, injection molding machines, grinding machines, machining centers, etc.
OsiSense XS
Inductive proximity sensors OsiSense Osiprox XS with automatic adjustment to work in any installation and non-contact detection of metal objects. Sensors XS6/XS8/XS7/XS1/XS5 of optimal and universal series. Their sensing distance is from 2.5 to 60 mm. The sensors are equipped with plastic or metal housings in cylindrical (M8/M12/M18/M30) versions or formats E, C, D, F or J, NO/NC contacts of relay or PNP/NPN types, with an operating voltage of 10 to 36 V DC, and from 20 to 264 V AC.
Designed for specific areas such as rotation control, ferrous/non-ferrous detection, etc.
OsiSense XU
OsiSense Osiris XU photoelectric sensors with automatic adjustment to any mode of operation and non-contact detection of objects of any shape and material. The XUB/XUK/XUX sensors of the optimal and universal series have a sensing distance from 0.1 to 60 m. The sensors are made in plastic or metal cases in a cylindrical, miniature, or compact design, NO/NC or NO+NC relay contacts, and PNP/NPN types, with operating voltage from 10 to 36 V DC, and from 20 to 264 V AC.
Designed for specific areas like detecting color, water, transparent materials, light, markers, etc.
