Schneider Preventa machine safety catalog includes XCS safety switches which are divided into subtypes with magnetic coding and mechanical action technologies.
Magnetic coding technology
Products in XCS DM plastic housing with M12 cable/connector and flying lead connector. Such devices have a degree of protection: IP66 + IP67, IP69K (XCSDM3/4). They are also equipped with various types of contacts: NC+NO, NO+NO, NC+NC+NO, NC+NO+NO (magnetically coding switches), and 2 PNP/NO outputs (magnetic coding system). 5 / Sar = 15 (XCSDMC), Sao = 8/Sar = 20 (XCSDMP/DMR), Sao = 10/Sar = 20 (XCSDM3/DM4).

Safety switches of mechanical action are divided into two types of housings, plastic, and metal.
Products in a plastic case
1. XCS P/PL/PR/TL/TR
- Limit switches/safety switches with rotary lever or shaft.
- 1 cable gland (XCS P) / 2 cable glands (XCS T).
- Degree of protection: IP66 + IP67 (XCS P)/IP67.
- Switching angle: 5° (XCS PL/PR/TL/TR).
- 2 or 3 slow-breaking contacts.
2. XCSMP/PA/TA/TE
- Interlock switches with mechanical drive.
- With cable /1 ISO M16 cable gland (XCS PA/TE) / 2 cable glands (XCS TA).
- Degree of protection: IP67.

1. XCS D/M
- Limit switches for security systems

2. XCS A/B/C/E

- 3 slow breaking contacts.
Also in the Schneider Preventa line, there are XCS safety switches in the explosion-proof version Preventa XCS ATEX D. These are switches for safety systems, for explosive environments. Certified products complying with EU Directive ATEX94/9/CE.
