Pneumatic foot pedal valves are designed to remotely signal other pneumatic devices in the system.

As usual these valves are used as directional control valves to operate pneumatic cylinders (single or double acting).

How does an air foot valve work?

An air operated foot pedal is often used in a wet environment. Instead of electricity, the compression of the foot pedal sends a “puff” of air down some PVC tubing to an air switch. The activation of the air switch will operate the device the switch is connected to.

When air is supplied to the tank through the compressor, pressure is applied to the walls. At the moment when the pressure becomes strong enough, the spring under the reservoir is compressed, and the diaphragm is pushed down. This, in turn, presses the valve stem down and closes the valve.

Pneumatic foot pedal for example, can control pneumatic cylinders that hold workpieces in place, allowing the machine to be operated hands-free.
Foot pedal valves lock workpieces in place; when the foot is removed, the stopper cancels and holds the pedal lever in the down position, re-insertion of the foot releases the latch.

Spring return versions can be used for repetitive functions such as pressing, dosing, drilling or stamping

Univer AM Pneumatic and electric bottom valves

The main features of Univer foot valves are:

  • Double poppet system for high performance and reliability
  • Aluminum valve body and pedal arm provide maximum strength
  • Can be available with or without protection. In the absence of protection, it must be provided by the machine manufacturer (in accordance with current regulations)
  • There is availability with safety devices to prevent unintentional operations
  • Available with pneumatic actuator in case of minimum load
  • Electric bottom valves with single or double microswitch complete the range of bottom valves

The bottom diaphragm pneumatic valve is designed for high-purity, sterile, aggressive or abrasive working environments. It ensures optimal filling and emptying of tanks.

The bottom valve is made from different types of steel and by its type refers to shut-off pipeline valves used for the transportation of liquid substances in tanks. The device is primarily designed to avoid unexpected leakage. For example, if the ball valve fails, then thanks to the bottom valve, the transported fuel will not flow out of the tank. In addition, with the help of the valve, it is possible to free the working medium from foreign impurities, if the valve is equipped with an appropriate filter.

Air enters the device, which raises the valve shutter, as a result, the product intended for transportation is poured or drained through a pipe that is connected to the bottom valve. At the end of the air supply, the device closes automatically.
