Pneumatic cylinder

What is a pneumatic cylinder? This is a pneumo-mechanical device that utilizes compressed gas power creating the physical force in a linear direction. This physical force produces a linear reciprocating or single-vector piston motion. A compressed gas force pushes the piston which provides the necessary motion for an industrial machine or mechanism.

Standards-based cylinders

Standard pneumatic cylinders are manufactured to generally accepted quality and reliability specs, which are well known throughout the industry. These devices are environmentally safe which ensures their active use in the pharmaceutical and food industries.

Standard-based compact cylinders

Standard-based compact cylinders are manufactured in compliance with the ISO 21287 Standard. Different compact series devices slightly vary in mounting dimensions. Univer offers cylinder diameters ranging from 33 to 100 mm.  

Oval Cylinders

Univer oval cylinder models feature a more compact case design compared to a standard round cylinder case. This reduces the overall cylinders assembly dimensions when several coupled cylinders are used. Thus, it’s possible to achieve a more compact equipment arrangement in industrial sets. The oval piston profile prevents the rod rotation along the reference axis.

Short-stroke cylinders

Short-stroke cylinders are specially designed to be used in industrial sets and environments with limited mounting space. These devices have a unique shape which allows diminishing overall coupled cylinders assembly width dimensions.

Rotating cylinders

Rotating cylinders are used in lathe, turret, and intra grinding machines to drive cartridges and mandrels. They are placed and fixed at the rear end of the spindle. Univer supreme technology expertise and experience have provided these devices with higher levels of reliability and accuracy. The robust mechanical design expands the possibilities of application within the framework of modern automation.

Rodless cylinders

In rodless cylinders, the piston is equipped with a permanent magnet. This makes it possible to determine and track the carriage's operating position. This feature is provided and supported by magnetic piston sensors located in special pits on the cylinder’s walls. Rodless cylinders are equipped with adjusting cushioning and braking force features as well. These functions are activated at the end of each stroke.
