The ABB psr25 600 70 PSR series of soft starters are the most compact models developed by ABB engineers for this purpose. These devices help to control the process of motor operation, by reducing the voltage in steps. They make pumps stop more smoothly, without water hammer, in other cases the bypass contacts help to reduce power losses, and they also act as motor protection against overloads and short circuits together with the MS series circuit breakers.
