Burkert Type 8318
Pressure transmitter with IO-Link interface
Metallic thin film strain gauge measuring principles
- Overview +
- Comments +
The Burkert 8318 pressure transmitter is used to measure and control absolute and relative pressure in liquids and gases. Applying pressure to the sensing element generates a signal that is amplified, digitized and processed. Instead of an analog output, this device offers a digital IO-Link interface. This enables bidirectional data communication with any IO-Link master. Data is accessed through an available standardized IODD.
IO-Link complies with specification version 1.1. Bidirectional communication is used to read process data, parameters, diagnostic information and status messages, and to set parameters. The two green LEDs light up continuously as soon as the device is powered up. After an IO-Link connection has been established, the LEDs flash. The switching behavior and switching thresholds of the digital outputs (max. 2 "PNP" or "NPN"), as well as many other parameters, can be set individually
Datasheet:
- Metal thin-film load cell measurement principles
- Process connections: G, NPT with hygienic flush diaphragm or clamp according to DIN 32676
- Relative pressure measuring ranges from -0.4 … +0.4 bar to -1 … +12.0 bar
- Available switching functions: PNP or NPN
- Access to measured value, device status and settings via IO-Link interface, very easy sensor replacement
