Industrial Ethernet gateway

The Burkert Industrial Ethernet Gateway ME63 is the central control unit for B?rkert products (sensors and valves, process control systems). It is based on the Effective Device Integration Platform (EDIP) and is used in processes that require a high degree of security.

Burkert ME63 consists of a fieldbus gateway that transmits the internal communication of Burkert field devices based on CANopen in accordance with all common industry standards for Industrial Ethernet. With eight M12 ports, CANopen-based Burkert field devices can be connected directly to a gateway type ME63.

Field devices can be powered by different types of connectors: M12 L-Power (up to 32 A) or M12 A-coded connector (up to 4 A).

One of these optional items can be type ME64 (I/O module) or a passive junction box (included as an accessory i

n this datasheet). The passive junction box is designed for easy integration of additional participants into the proprietary bus system of the ME63 type gateway. Power supply via the M12 L-Power input can power other field devices close to the process via the second M12 L-Power output. An Ethernet switch is also integrated into the device, which allows additional field devices located close to the process to be connected directly to the Ethernet link.
