The EC 34 series of rack encoders has auto clearance recovery. It greatly simplifies linear dimension and overcomes dimension issues with long distance opposed to an incremental linear encoder. These linear transducers have a preload system and rugged aluminum body. This allows automatic slack recovery among toothed rack and pinion.
