The UGB-18GM50-255-E1 is an ultrasonic joint sensor from Pepperl+Fuchs designed to detect joints and breaks in a variety of materials including paper, film, textiles and thin metal sheets. The sensor uses ultrasonic waves to detect changes in the acoustic impedance of the material occurring at the joint.
