Automatic Pump

MFP14 Spirax Sarco are automatic condensate pumps and positive displacement receivers operating with steam, compressed air, or gas as the working fluid. They are primarily used to lift liquids, such as condensate, to a higher level.

The MFP14 intermittent pump is used to pump liquids flowing by gravity into its casing. After the casing is filled, the liquid is displaced by steam (or compressed air). It operates in two phases: filling and pumping, and uses a stainless steel float to control the valve timing mechanism (inlet and outlet).
A typical application for the MFP 14 pump is the drainage system of steam heat exchangers with controlled medium temperature in the secondary circuit under variable heat loads (a so-called intermittent system with a dehydrator).

Advantages of the MFP14

• Batch pumps are not susceptible to cavitation, making them ideal for pumping hot liquids without the need for an anti-cavitation head or special impeller design.
• Powerless operation allows MFP pumps to be safely used in areas exposed to moisture.
• Due to its operating principle, the MFP 14 pump operates as long as the medium flows into its casing by gravity, eliminating the need for a level control system in the pressure tank.
• MFP 14 pumps can be successfully used for draining heating chambers where negative pressure exists.
