Baumer distance sensors photoBaumer distance sensors are devices that determine current distance to an object and its movement.

The German company produces the following types of distance sensors:

Optical distance sensors use a light signal for their measurements. They are able to work at a distance of 13 m. Generally, a laser is used as a light source.

Ultrasonic distance sensors use ultrasonic signals for measurements. They operate at distance up to 6 m and have an accuracy up to 0.1mm. Such equipment are capable for operating in environments with a large presence of pollution.

Radar distance sensors are designed specifically for harsh environments. They have a miniature but very robust design. Such equipment operates at temperatures from -40 to 65 ° C (-40 / 150 ° F). They have IP68 / IP69K enclosure rating and more due to proTect + technology.

Inductive distance sensors are used to work with metal objects using inductive signals. They have a microcontroller in their design and operate on the AlphaProx platform.
