Baumer inductive sensors are special units that track inductance changes to determine the position of metal objects.
The German company produces several types of equipment that works with an inductive principle of action:

Baumer inductive proximity switches record the presence or absence of a metal object in the working zone. Such equipment operates in a non-contact way and have high temperature stability and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
Baumer inductive distance sensors measure the value of metal objects movement. They work using the Baumer AlphaProx platform. This technology increases accuracy and simplifies management. Their working principle is the same as proximity switches.
Hard-wearing and heat-resistant sensors have special stainless steel housing from V4A DuroProx. Their front surfaces are made from stainless steel or LCP (carbon fiber reinforce polymers).
Sensors with reduction factor 1 have the same measuring distances for different metal materials with switching frequency up to 3 KHz. This feature make them the fastest sensors in its category.
The main advantage of miniature sensors is the smallest design worldwide. The models are available in cylindrical form with a diameter of 4 mm or a flat form with a height of 4.7 mm. All devices operate at distance up to 3 m.
